Call for AzTEA Secretary

Would you like to serve your Eastside AzTEA but have not seen an opportunity in the past?

We are looking for a Secretary for our Planning Committee. Major responisbilities include meeting minutes, managing the e-mail list and assisting in keeping that data accurate and current.

The Planning Committee meets once monthly - usually from 9 am - 11 am. Current location is in Tempe but may move further east (Gilbert) later this school year.

Secretary status is volunteer, as are all Planning Committee positions and your voice is equal to all other members on the planning committee as we work to further develop this Chapter.

If you are interested in this position, or would like to simply learn more, please contact me:

2006-2007 Kick-Off

Ruth Camuse of the Tempe School District has served as the Eastside AzTEA Chair for quite some time now and has decided to spend this year stepping down from that role. She put out a public call to the Eastside AzTEA membership and Julia Lott - Gilbert Unified School District and I responded.

Ruth is now engaged in showing us the ropes and hopefully we can learn to fill her very experienced, knowledgeable and hard to fill shoes!

AzTEA organizes Arizona into 4 Regional Chapters - Westside (think Phoenix Metropolitan area), Norther Arizona Chapter (think Flagstaff), Souther Arizona Chapter (think Tucson) and Eastside Chapter (think eastern and south of the Phoneix Metropoliltan area).

We are Educators, Administrators, Technology Integration and Curriculum Specialists working to develop and maintain a community support network of knwoledge, experience and opportunity as it related to Technology in the field of Education.

AzTEA hosts 3 statewide conferences - PEAK (Flagstaff), Teaching and Technology (Tucson), WOW 'Way Out West' (Glendale).

On November 8th, the Eastside Chapter will host its 2006-2007 Kick-Off Event.

Within the AzTEA Membership there is an amazing collection of resources, skills and knowledge. We hope to connect teachers with expertise to teachers who need expertise.

Join us at this event and let us know how your Eastside AzTEA can support you.
